Back to school time can be tough on everybody- kids, parents and teachers alike! Here are some helpful tips to make the transition a little bit easier and make this school year successful!
Getting back into the swing of things this fall can be difficult. Make it easier for children and parents by setting daily routines.
Six Tips for Setting Routines
Snack time - when kids get home from school have a small, healthy snack then do homework right away.
Set a schedule - plan a time for breakfast, homework, TV watching, outdoor play, and bedtime.
Clean up - children have to clean up their toys at school, use this routine to accustom them for a lifelong skill
Prepare - place clothes for the next day the night before, this will make for an easy morning departure.
Reading time - make a set time and place where children (and adults) can read for pleasure 30 minutes each day.
Weekend activities - just because kids are not in school they should still participate in structured activities, use community resources to find activities in your area.
Kids get used to routines while in school- follow through and use home routines to help them be better prepared.
